A few of our faithful blog followers/fans have noticed that we have a new, snazzy ending to our SDEs and have sent us email comments saying they really like it - we're so glad!   A few weeks ago we found Dan Johnson, the creative director and owner of Panda Motion online in our search for an animation graphic designer.  Several months ago we rebranded with the help of Into The Dark Room and we love our new logo and wanted something a bit more polished done with it to use in our feature films and SDEs.  Dan's vision was exactly what we were hoping for.  In his first email response to us he said the following "When I think of your logo I quickly thought of lights and depth of field. What if there were some circular particles floating close to the camera and far away creating the depth of field?  I would try to make it subtle and clean. We could reveal your logo through changing the focus of the camera."  Brian and I immediately felt connected to Dan.  He used terms we talk about constantly in our cinematography and photography work and we loved the whole depth of field and changing focus concepts.  Within a couple of days through no more than 3 emails back and forth we had our final animation design and were so excited to premiere it last Saturday at the end of Jennifer and John's Same Day Edit.  We are so impressed with the professionalism and speed in which Dan took our logo design and created a beautiful animated piece for us.  If you are in need of animation work or logo/branding for your business or pleasure we highly recommend Dan who also owns Spin My Logo.  Check out the work he and his team have done... it's really great!
(below is just a screenshot of the new logo, it certainly doesn't do justice to the beauty that shines in the animated version - if you haven't seen it yet scroll down and check out Jennifer and John's Same Day Edit).  Let us know what you think of the new animation...

Over the past couple of months we've been working with Mary Bratko, founder of WeddingGirl.ca, to create a series of up close and personal interviews with some of the most unique and talented professionals in the Wedding Industry.  We have called these interviews Bridecasts™.  The purpose of these interviews really is two-fold. First, we intend them to be informative, educational and inspiring to all couples who are in the midst of planning their big day!  Secondly, we want to provide a fantastic marketing tool to amazing vendors who might otherwise not reach such a wide audience of couples who are looking for their type of service or product.  Yes, the internet is a wonderful resource for information and many companies have beautiful websites that provide loads of images and details in the form of text, but this is a way for these vendors to really showcase their talents and tell their stories.  It's a way for them to really introduce themselves and for couples to see the personality behind the the website/company.  What makes these vendors different? What about them would make a couple want to hire them to be a (big) part of their wedding day?  We have already interviewed some incredible vendors and have these Bridecasts™ set to launch on Monday, May 17th.  Each vendor will be showcased over a two week period as we want to bring you tons of information and keep each Bridecast™ to about 3 minutes in length.  The intent is also for these Bridecasts™ to be interactive - if you have a question or comment regarding one of the segments that you'd like to ask/share please email Mary info@weddinggirl.ca and she will be happy to answer any questions.  We are also looking for vendors for our next segment.  If you know a fantastic professional in the wedding industry who you feel should be featured please let us know and we'll be in touch with them - if you are a wedding professional and are interested in being interviewed we'd also love to hear from you.  Here is a short clip we shot of Mary introducing these all new Bridecasts™ to her world wide audience (so excited she spoke a wee bit fast).  Don't forget to tune in to WeddingGirl.ca next Monday to meet our very first vendor!

When we began our re-branding journey last fall we knew that it would be essential to coordinate everything in our studio to match our new logo and our new brand.  This meant new business cards, new office materials and most importantly new packaging.  We set out to find a company that met our needs.  They needed to be committed to our concern for the environment by using recycled materials and they needed to be willing to create what we had envisioned for our packaging.  We were very excited to find Will and Matt at Train Records and even better their company is just 40 minutes drive from us in Mississauga, Ontario.  We initially met with these guys about 5 weeks ago to discuss what we wanted and although they had never created double 6-panel digipaks for DVDs before (most of their work is in CD and single DVD packaging) they said they could create a new design for us.  We knew we also wanted a cover sleeve for the entire package to slide into as a means of protection just like the limited edition DVDs of your favourite movies you buy in stores.  We got to work on the artwork and through a series of emails we were able to finalize our product design and in just two weeks we received an email saying our packaging was ready for pick up.  Today we drove through pouring rains to pick up our new packaging and we absolutely love it.  Our feature films and photo collections will now be delivered in beautiful cases that really reflect the professionalism, quality and craftsmanship that we put into every one of our projects.  We love the textured look and feel of the cases and the warm, rich colours.  They match our new website and blog perfectly.  Here are a few photos of our new packaging. We hope our couples love it as much as we do.  If you'd like more information on packaging or CD/DVD duplication please feel free to email us or contact Will and Matt directly - they'd love to hear from you.
