Nearly two years ago we met Angie and Steve to chat about their upcoming 2010 wedding and immediately Angie knew that she wanted to Trash her Dress after her big day.  She made it clear that there would definitely be water involved and that she didn't care how disgusting it might get - she just wanted to have fun.  A few weeks ago we met up with them and spent an hour wandering around Kensington Market in Toronto.  Once a month the market becomes kind of a freak show of sorts with all sorts of buskers, musicians and various types of entertainment taking to the streets.  Ironically, Angie and Steve got a lot of looks in their wedding attire although their 'costumes' were probably the most ordinary compared to what others were wearing. The end of their video is pretty cool - all I could hear from those watching from shore were comments like "they shouldn't be in there" and "they need to get out of there or they will get sick"... is the Humber River really that bad?  Well, Angie and Steve survived and have a beautifully captured short film and photos to remember it by.  We love their TTD session!

Not many couples would consider waking up before dawn on their honeymoon, but we were so excited when Tiffany and John agreed to meet us before sunrise by the salt pool at our resort for a photo session. There is nothing more beautiful than the light at dawn.  It's soft and sexy and I love the way it dances on the water and on the skin painting everything with a soft orange.  When Tiffany and John had asked us about shooting a Trash the Dress session while we were in Mexico we couldn't wait to see what was in store.  We weren't sure if we'd travel off the resort or if we'd just take advantage of our local surroundings.  When we saw how incredible the sunrises were over the salt pool we knew it would be a great location.  We love the way these two are so comfortable with each other and in front of the cameras.  Although this is different than any other trash the dress we have done in the past we love the imagery and felt this song was so fitting.  We hope they love it as much as we do!

Trash the Dress is really becoming popular and we couldn't be more excited.  This year we have three couples who have already added TTD to their wedding packages and a couple of others who are giving it some serious thought.  The best part about doing these sessions is that there is lots of time... unlike the actual wedding day where we are usually a wee bit pressed for time between the ceremony and reception and the couple doesn't have to worry about getting wet or dirty.  We usually book 3-6 hours for these sessions depending on the location(s) and the more creative and outgoing the couple, the better the images.  We've had couples lay in rushing streams, jump into swimming pools and get completely filthy in the mud and our latest TTD shot in the Mayan, Mexico was no exception.  This dress was bought specifically for the TTD session and our bride had no intention of ever wearing it again. In fact after cutting off the bottom half of the dress and then going right into the ocean with it on she simply left the sand-covered, soaking-wet thing behind.  Here are some of my favourite images from that session.
